Gary M. Clower, born in 1952, was raised in Indiana, graduating from Purdue University with a B.A. Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1978. He began practicing law in 1983 after graduating from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. Gary is a member of the WSBA, TACBA, WACDL. He has served two terms as a member of the Pierce County Superior Court Criminal Procedures Committee. In 2012, he was presented with the Robert J. Bryan Inn of Court Civility Award. In 2012 Mr. Clower took over the long-established personal injury and workers’ compensation firm of George M. Riecan & Associates, upon Mr. Riecan’s retirement, which was then re-named Tacoma Injury Law Group, Inc., P.S. Our firm has been representing personal injury plaintiffs and injured workers since 1983.
Isabel A. M. Cole retired after over twenty years as an Air Traffic Controller. During her last three years, while working full time as a controller, and being a single mom to a teenage daughter, she went to law school with the intent of helping workers with employment issues. She realized that intent when she began working for Tacoma Injury Law Group in January 2015. Isabel has represented injured workers before the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals, several Superior Courts and the Court of Appeals. In her free time she loves writing, singing, and any type of board, card, or word game.
Tammy Clower is a native Washingtonian and attended Pacific Lutheran University having obtained her JD from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1990. She has been practicing law since then and is an avid animal welfare advocate. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter and all the family pets.
Pablo A. Ortiz was born and raised in Mexicali, Mexico a border city with California. Upon graduating from high school, Pablo joined the United States Army proudly serving honorably for 6 years. In 1998, Pablo graduated from Saint Martin’s University, (formerly Saint Martin’s College), with a BA in Business Administration. Pablo joined our firm in August 1997, after working in the Claims Section of the Department of Labor & Industries, (L&I) for almost 5 years. Pablo finds that representing injured workers, fighting for their benefits while protecting their rights is challenging, fulfilling and rewarding. Pablo enjoys playing soccer and cycling. He lives in Tacoma with his wife Christi, and together they have a daughter.
Sara M. Wood began working at Tacoma Injury Law Group in 2002 after completing her Associates of Arts & Sciences degree from Pierce College. She began working as the Receptionist, then Legal Assistant and has worked as Office Bookkeeper and Legal Assistant since 2011. Sara has lived in Tacoma her whole life and is married with two children. She enjoys baking, crafting and adventures with her family.
Douglas W. Lopez is a bilingual (English and Spanish) personal injury and workers’ compensation paralegal for Tacoma Injury Law Group and has worked in the legal field for 25 years. Mr. Lopez was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and worked in various capacities in the legal field, including paralegal/office manager and legal assistant in the LA area until moving and settling in Washington State in 2005. Doug is passionate about helping the average folks against big business, agencies and insurance companies. During his spare time he loves to BBQ and spend time outdoors.
Scott A. Mills graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in Sociology and Minor in Psychology. In 1994, he started his initial Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor/Internship and is registered and certified with the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries as Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC # 8837). Scott is also a Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS). As a Paralegal, Scott has been with our firm fighting for industrially injured workers under Title 51 Law since 1998. Scott is married to Stephanie Mills, Paralegal at Tacoma Injury Law Group. Scott relieves stress by vacationing with his family, playing with his dogs, and playing the drums.
Stephanie M. Mills started with the firm in 2002. She began managing worker’s compensation claims in 1997 for a plaintiff’s firm and also handles personal injury claims. Stephanie graduated from Central Washington University in 1996 earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law & Justice studies. Stephanie and her husband Scott enjoy spending time in Eastern WA along with their dogs, family and friends.
Jessica G. Cruz is a bilingual (English and Spanish) Receptionist with many years of experience in customer service. She was born in San Fernando Valley, California and her family are from El Salvador. Jessica has a young daughter who is also bilingual and enjoys playing soccer. She enjoys hiking and outdoor adventures.
Malina S. Nguon was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. Prior to joining Tacoma Injury Law Group, Malina began her career as a Legal Assistant for a workers’ compensation and personal injury law firm in 2011. She is an enthusiastic worker and ready to help in any way she can. On the weekends, you will most likely find her cheering on her 8-year-old son from the stands or on the field at his sports games. She enjoys adventures with her family and cooking.
